statement

Harper’s work explores the relationships with others, with her own body, and with food through the use of bright, oftentimes monochromatic colors, humourous exaggerations, and distortion of the human form. Her work often meets at the intersection of photography and sculpture, working to create surreal-like spaces to place her subjects within, and combining the two to push the boundaries of what a photograph can be.

She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus in photography, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is currently a MFA candidate at the University of Georgia in Athens Georgia.
